Bagmati University and CNI Forge Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Academia–Industry Collaboration

Prof. Chandra Mani Paudel, President of Bagmati University, and Mr. Birendra Raj Pandey, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), convened to formalize a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening collaboration between academia and the industrial sector.

The partnership seeks to create meaningful opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint research, innovation, and entrepreneurship by bringing together the academic expertise of Bagmati University and the practical experience and industry network of CNI. Through closer cooperation, both institutions aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry requirements, while contributing to the development of skilled, innovative, and industry-ready human resources.

A key focus of the partnership will be the promotion of collaborative research initiatives addressing contemporary challenges and emerging opportunities in Nepal’s economic and industrial landscape. The collaboration is also expected to encourage faculty–industry engagement, student exposure to professional environments, internships, industry-oriented training, and other initiatives that can enhance students’ practical knowledge and employability.

Furthermore, the partnership will support entrepreneurship and innovation by encouraging students, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas, develop innovative solutions, and explore new business opportunities. Such initiatives are expected to foster an entrepreneurial culture and help transform academic knowledge and research outcomes into practical applications with social and economic impact.

The collaboration between Bagmati University and the Confederation of Nepalese Industries marks an important step toward building a stronger bridge between higher education and industry. By working together, both institutions reaffirm their commitment to nurturing innovation, supporting research-driven development, and contributing to Nepal’s broader economic and human-resource development.
